Getting started
I can't code. Can I still do this?
You don't need to. You describe your app in plain English and watch it get built. If you can send a text message, you can do this.
Is it just a template?
Templates are the starting point for speed and reliability. Your app is built to your description, with your name, icon, screens and features.
What if it breaks?
Every change is saved as a version, and going back is one click. Anything that fails on our side never counts against your weekly building.
What about Android?
iPhone first. Android is coming, and the way we build means it won't be a rewrite.
Testing on your phone
Do I need a Mac?
No. Everything runs in your browser on any computer. Your app reaches your iPhone through a link you open in Safari on the phone, with no cable, once you've joined Apple's developer programme.
Publishing
Do I have to pay Apple?
Not to build, or to try your app in your browser. To put it on your own iPhone or publish it, you need Apple's developer membership: Apple charges $99 a year to publish any app, and there's no way around it. Join and your app is on your iPhone in about a minute, and every change appears in seconds.
Will Apple approve my app?
We build to Apple’s rules and check your app against them before you submit. Nobody can guarantee approval, but most rejections come from a short list of mistakes we prevent.
Money
How much does it cost to run?
Your plan covers your first live app. Every live app includes its hosting, database, sign-in, file storage and daily backups, and a set number of people a month. The only extras are more live apps, people and storage beyond what your live apps include, and AI in your app (on paid plans), billed by use and only if your app uses it. Your apps never stop for going over, and we tell you if they do.
Can I make money from it?
You can charge subscriptions from day one, and we help you choose an idea with demand, price it and get your first customers. We'll never promise a number; we'll show you the real ones.
How does the weekly building limit work?
Each plan includes a weekly amount of building, shown as a dial in the app. Your week runs from the day you subscribed (or signed up, on Free), and unused building doesn't carry over. Free starts with a building trial, then a little more each week. Anything that fails on our side never counts.
What happens if I run out?
Wait for next week’s reset, or upgrade: it starts straight away and you only pay the difference for the rest of the month. There’s no pay-as-you-go, and running out of building never affects your live apps.
What counts as a live app?
One your users can reach. You can build and test as many apps as you like; your plan includes your first live app, and each further one is a set price a month, with the same people and storage as the first. Turn one off any time to stop paying for it.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Your plan runs to the end of the period you’ve paid for, and you can export your app and its data at any time.
Ownership
Do I own it?
Yes. Your app, your code, your data, your App Store account and your customers. Download your code and your app's database at any time. The database is standard SQLite, so it runs anywhere.
Results vary. Most apps earn little without consistent work, and we never promise income.
